RECO USA, America’s leading supplier of water heating and storage equipment, is pleased to announce Bob Platt as its new President. Platt takes over from William (Bill) Carr, who is retiring as the company’s President and had been with the company in various positions for over 40 years.
Bob Platt joins RECO USA with extensive experience in fabricated heating and fluid flow equipment and systems. Most recently, he worked at Concepts NREC, an engineered software, design, and manufacturing company specializing in compressors and industrial gas turbines. While there he served as their V.P. of Sales and Marketing. Platt also worked at Graham Corp., a $100M surface condenser and water heater manufacturer, in a similar capacity, and as President of API Heat Transfer’s Shell and Tube Division.
“I’m very glad to be a part of RECO USA,” Platt said. “As the leading provider of engineered water heating and storage vessels in the US with over 104 years of continuous operation, we have a strong tradition that we will be building upon. We also have several new products planned for 2018 that we think our customers are going to like, and overall we are quite excited about what the future holds for us.”
A registered Professional Engineer, Platt is also a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology, where he received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He and his wife Emily will be relocating to our headquarters in the Columbia, South Carolina area.
